You will need a box of tissues beside you if you read The Hunger Games (Hunger Games Trilogy, Book one) by Suzanne Collins

 The Hunger Games

(Hunger Games Trilogy, Book one)

By Suzanne Collins

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Imagine you lived in a dystopian world where those in charge in the Capital keep order by making children fight to the death in something called The Hunger Games. In order to save her sister from a terrible fate, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her place. If Katniss is to survive then, she must think only of herself. But with such a loving heart, Katniss finds this impossible. She does not want to die, but she does not want her friends to either.

This is an incredibly moving book. Katniss is a reluctant heroine, but a heroine she becomes for she has no choice. Her relationship with Peeta, the other person from her district who has been made to fight in the games, was really sweet. I really liked Peeta, but with every turn of the page, I braced myself for what was to come next.

This is a very emotional read, so have some tissues handy. I can't wait to read book 2.

I picked my copy up at Waterstones, my bookshop of choice!
